Alrosa’s nets US$ 90 million from Israel diamond auctions
Russian diamond miner, Alrosa has summed up the results of special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamond auction, which was held in Israel on November 4-22, 2018.
Russian diamond miner, Alrosa has summed up the results of its sixth and last auction in Israel for 2018, for the sale of special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamonds.
The overall sales revenue reached US$ 17 million. The combined revenue of all the six auctions held this year in Israel reached US$ 90 million.
During the sixth auction the miner has sold 105 gem-quality rough diamonds with the total weight of 1906 carats. 44 companies were recognised as winners in different auction positions.
“The results of this year’s last auction in Israel confirm the stable demand for our products in this country – the total starting price has been significantly exceeded. This year, we held six auctions in Israel and sold large rough diamonds for a total amount of US$ 90 million,” said Evgeny Agureev, the Member of the Executive committee, Director of the USO Alrosa.
More than 100 companies from Israel, Belgium, Hong Kong, India, UAE, the US and Russia were invited to participate in that auction. In accordance with Russian law, special size rough diamonds can only be sold through auctions.
